What is Reiki?
Reiki is an alternative therapy that has a spiritual origin. This Japanese practice is recognized by WHO (World Health Organization), and consists of the transmission of the universal life energy through the hands. When the flow of our life energy is blocked, then our immune- and emotional defences go down, and this way physical and mental illnesses occur. Therefore, the Reiki acts not only on a physical level, but also emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
What is a session like?
A Reiki session takes about 55 minutes. The receiver lies down, with his/her clothes on, and barefoot. The practitioner transmits the universal energy to the receiver, to make the life energy flow in him/her again. The session can be done in silence or with relaxing music in the background and/or aromatherapy.
I often use the – previously already mentioned – „seeing hands”-technique during my Reiki therapy sessions that allows me to give the receiver’s body such touches and energetic blockage releases, that his/her body really needs.
There is the opportunity for distant treatments as well, so if it is not possible to perform the session in person (e.g. the receiver lives abroad, etc.), the client can still be part of the healing processes and all the benefits of Reiki.
The benefits of Reiki:
- facilitates unlocking blockages of our life energy, reactivating our immune system and self-healing processes
- gives protection
- reduces and can eliminate pain
- unlocks stress
- equilibrates our chakras (our energy centres)
- harmonizes us mentally and spiritually
- helps us find balance and harmony in our life
